Young leaders

Leadership is built into everything we do. Young people lead campaigns, deliver workshops, plan events, train professionals and help shape strategy at every level. Through hands-on experience, mentoring and real responsibility, they grow into confident leaders who make change happen, in their schools, their communities and beyond.

Our Youth Board, Junior Trustees and project leads ensure that young people’s perspectives are embedded in decision-making. Leadership roles are supported and recognised as valuable contributions. Whether it’s chairing a national event or contributing to our five-year strategy, our young leaders set the direction for the work we

Junior Trustee

About the project: Youth board and junior trustees

The Integrate UK Youth Board is a leadership body made up of young people who shape the direction of our projects, policies and organisational priorities. Junior Trustees sit on the board of trustees, contributing to governance decisions and ensuring youth voice is part of strategic planning.

These aren’t symbolic roles they’re positions of real influence and responsibility. Members have co-written organisational values, led national consultations, and represented the charity at high-level events. They receive tailored training and ongoing mentoring to support their growth as confident, skilled leaders.

This model of shared leadership is one of the first of its kind in the sector and it’s helped young people progress into roles in education, activism, policy and youth work, continuing to lead change long after their time at Integrate.
